What is Testing and Tagging
Testing and Tagging is a necessary procedure for the electrical safety checkingof appliances which minimise the risk of electrical shock or electrical fires.
If you're the employer/owner of a business, you have a 'Duty of Care' toensure that all employees and visitors to your workplace are safe from injuryand risk to health. Every business is required under government legislation tomaintain all electrical equipment and appliances to a safe standard. This meansthat all 'plug-in' appliances must be regularly safety inspected and tested tomeet their obligations, in order to remain compliant.
Electricity can kill inonly 30 milliseconds. Imagine the implications for the business andparticularly the owner/directors. Even though many businesses are UNAWARE ofthe requirement of regular testing and tagging, that's not an acceptableexcuse. No one or no business is exempt from their Electrical SafetyObligations. Under current government legislation, all business and workplacesmust have their electrical appliances/equipment certified tested and tagged forsafety compliance.
